Rear Yoke Wrong Spline Count??HELP ('87 LT4WD)

HELP!!:icon_ cry: I have gotten so sick of dealing with this. I have a 1987 Quadrunner LT4WD the 250cc 4x4 one. VIN checks out as a 1987 too. Broken rear yoke near the differential (inner u-joint/yoke). Part number 27501-19B11 on any parts diagram. Tried a inner yoke off a 95 king quad, shows same part # for yoke but it was too big. Tried a inner yoke off an 89 quadrunner LT4WD - again, too big. They both had a spline count of 22 on the inside, my shaft has a spline count of 20 on it and is slightly smaller outside diameter than the inside diameter of the yokes I tried, so they won't match up. I looked at my other rear yoke, it looks to have "85" and the letter "C" on it, while the ones I tried had no such markings.

Cannot find the part I need for the life of me, dealer has no idea why the ones I tried are different as he said they should be the same 1987 up until 1995 according to him and said all are same part #

I'm at a loss. Don't know how to find the proper inner yoke with a 20 spline count? By the way - old yoke was lost in the field, it completely grenaded so rebuilding isn't an option

THANKS for any help you can provide

my ATV's VIN # checks out as an 1987 LT4WD

Here's a parts fiche - it's part 16a/b (27501-19b11) http://www.grpowersports.net/fiche_...category=ATVs&make=SUZUKI&year=1987&fveh=1855

Maybe just maybe they used parts for a Quad Racer Might want to try one up to a 1992 and see if it is the correct part.

The actual "axle" inside the rear differential, that both inner yokes on either side connect too, is smaller than both the yokes I tried as well. Both yokes I tried slide right on over it. Mines smaller by maybe an eigth of an inch, and like I said, 2 less splines. I understand what you're saying about a quadracer parts but how would they even put a smaller axle inside the rear integrated diff on the machine and make it work if it was smaller

I was thinking perhaps since I live in Michigan it could be a canadian model or something? I don't know if they were different at all or how I would tell. I'm stumped and the dealer has no answers for me.

They just said part # 27501-19B11 (yoke) supercedes 27501-19B01 which was a yoke only used on 87 quad runner. Apparently. So I guess I need a used 87 Yoke as no other year fits it, not even a 1988 they said. New from dealer is $$$$ so I'm down and out until I find an 87 I guess

If anyone else has any other info, lemme know please

Check Ebay, you may be able to find one there.

Thanks Tubby, got a intelligent guy on the phone at a different dealer, he said 87 is specific for its own year, 86 or 88 wouldn't work. So the new part is an arm, leg and first born child $314 but I found it used for less than half that. So I'm just gonna get the used one, off an 87, with the 20 spline count and that should be the end of the nightmare. Thanks for your help. FYI the part I'm after looks like this http://www.powersportsnation.com/images/ebay/6094/IMGP1362.JPG , u-joint with two female input yokes on either side, sits up by the rear differential. Hopefully this will help somebody else that sees it too

Reitz21, I'll just point out your responding to a thread that has been inactive for more then two years. So i doubt you'll get a response. Also please try and not post in an older thread, especially if they have been inactive for more then a year. No hard feelings, just trying to keep the forum clean and neat. If you are uncertain if a thread is old or new then read this: ( http://www.suzukiatvforums.com/forums/suzuki-atv-news/6682-older-posts.html )

I have the same issue I'm thinking of welding the outer axle shaft to the yoke and removing the snap ring on the splined output shaft. I think that will allow the shaft to move in and out (longer and shorter) with the suspension moving up and down, as does the axle shaft into the yoke. What do you think?
