I had a 96 KQ which actually was a 282cc. The four runner had the 246cc engine which was later used for the Ozark in a 2wd solid axle model

Yes they made two models the quadrunner 500 and the quadmaster 500. The quadrunner is the semi automatic transmission with high and low, some had selectable front differential but no locker unlike the smaller models. But the ones with the awd front differential from what I've known is completely junk and the differential don't last unlike the selectable models. So if you do find one stay away from the awd models unless you want a fun 2wd ripper
