Override low range

My 05 King Quad 700 has no power in low range without using the override button. I know it’s supposed to do this in reverse or diff lock, but low range 2wd? Doesn’t seem normal to me can anyone chime in?
Bought this bike used and seller told me it was normal. What say you guys?

That's absolutely NOT normal.... mind you.... what is your definition of "no power".

My 05 700 KQ has a lot of punch in low range... however its not a v-twin with explosive power...like the Can Am Outlander... the KQ has done everything I've ever asked of it and more...but its only got about 43 hp.

It also has a built in delay when you punch it (thanks Suzuki)... so it delivers only moderate power till about a running pace then full power...I believe that was a built in by the factory "safety feature" so us dumb a-- owners couldn't wheelie it and break out necks :)
Mine, 05 700 kq, has tons of punch in 2x low. 4x4 low i can hardly hang on.

Did you ever figure out the issue I’m dealing with the same thing.
