Do you plow snow?I'm using the KFI rocker switch that came with mine. No problems at all with it. Dont know if you can by them separately.
True but mine seems to be weak in the switch it’s self, as I mentioned it can take a couple “hit’s” to get the winch to work.. I don’t want to be out plowing and can’t get the plow to come up, then I’ll have to come home backwards…The only connectors coming off the winch itself are the neg and pos terminals ... so wouldn't any controller and rocker switch work? Why wouldnt it, as long as it was 12 volts and the winch itself can turn forward and reverse.
Goes through a solenoidIs your switch direct wired or is it through a solenoid?
I had to look kumera up.How much current is the switch (not quite) handle? just that it wouldnt be the 1st time I have seen such a switch rewired to include a 40a relay to protect the switch.
Im not at all familiar with letric wenches but if your fizzing switches regular then its pretty much either getting water in there or the switch just aint up to the load . Other thing to consider is that if the switch has fizzed the contacts a bit they will get hot real fast ( dont lean on the switch to long ) and it sorta snowballs from there and when it finally sucks the kumera the operator may well think its just suddenly failed.
I have a 40a relay on the start button on my Guzzi because the latching current on the starter solenoid is like 20+ amps or something ( cant remember 🙄).
I agree with McTool, that contactor shouldn't draw much current to close but a separate relay that closes by the switch to take the place of the switch in the circuit would sure take the load off the little switch.Goes through a solenoid
