LT125 quad conversion to diesel

First off , do you think it's possible ? I only ask because I have a 1983 with 2500 miles in excellent shape but no spark and parts are discontinued .I'm getting nowhere with used electrical parts . Money for nothing but burnt out parts and no return policy plus they want an arm and a leg usually. Soooo... I thought if I could covert it to diesel then I don't need spark. Has anyone ever tried to covert a bike engine to diesel ?

I have never heard of anyone converting any Suzuki atv over to a diesel engine, yet alone a LT125. The work to covert everything over to diesel would most likely be pricey. Not to mention all the modifications you’d have to do to get everything to work, “properly”.

Have you tried looking on: Home page - Power Sports Nation: The Cheapest Used ATV and Side by Side Parts to see if they have any of the parts that you require. And another thing that would help you with troubleshooting would be a service repair manual. It’s well worth it when you’re left scratching your head in frustration. And welcome to the Forum.
Thanks, I came to the same conclusion . Kawasaki has a KLR 650 diesel they built for the Special Forces . As far as the used parts go I have not been able to find any electrical parts . This is what I found on the frame JSATF41A2D2131574 so 1983 parts on Power Sports Nation are not available . These parts are as rare as hens teeth. The real kicker is I just replaced all the tires . Yeesh !

Assuming you could do it, you would have to change the head ( you need a glow plug and injector, not a spark plug and carb), possibly the piston (different compression ratio would be required for diesel) and that’s just the start. We haven’t addressed longevity in components like forged rods, or a forged crank .

Find the parts you need and fix it. JMHO.

I would love to fix the problem but 1983 parts just aren't available from reliable sources. I've tried eBay and other platforms but I ended up with other peoples burnt out electronics have lost a few hundred dollars so far. No returns or guarantees on electrical parts unfortunately.

Understood, but the diesel conversion is not an option
