Most Suzuki atv Vin# are located on the left rear down tube. It’s typically a small welded tag which should be facing the inner left rear tire. As Suzuki progressed throughout the years with the newer models, the tags may of moved location a bit. Or they may still be in the same spot. Your Vin# should be 17 digits long.

would you know how to obtain a 400as partsbreakdown or parts manual ?

Look up a site called Tradebit. They have various PDF style service manuals at vary reasonable price. Between $10 - $20 depending on the manual. Service manuals are the type of manuals utilized by Suzuki and other repair shops. They give step by step instructions on specific repairs, troubleshooting, and specifications.
