I’m in the market for a front mounted winch on my 1999 KQ300. I see a few mounts around but I’m wondering if there is a consensus on which is the best? I’ve heard the Warn sticks out and mounts low leaving your winch in the elements... not what I’m after.

My use will be occasional plowing and more frequently ATV recovery when my buddies and I get stuck!

Are there any other viable options still available for these 20+ year old bikes?

Pictures of other mounts (even homemade) to show location on front of bike and anchor points would be appreciated!

I have some pics of a winch plate/bracket which was fabed up for me for my Superwinch on my ‘00 King Quad (300). I’ll try and remember to post up some pics tomorrow.

Just curious if you had a chance to upload a picture of your winch mount set up? I’m still figuring out which direction I want to go with mine. Storebought vs. homemade

I totally forgot, sorry about that. I’ll make a note of it and post some pics tomorrow afternoon. I apologize about that.

Hey, sorry about that. Here's a few pics of my winch mount on my 2000 Suzuki King Quad 300 4x4. Again, I apologize for forgetting all about it.

If you have any questions about my set up don't hesitate to ask.

I used one from a 03 I think, welded it in place.

I'd add pics but it won't let me and I don't have a 3rd party host.

Well I’m not sure if it’s the “best” winch mount but I ended up buying a Warn mount off eBay for $50.

It fits nicely but it does block the oil cooler some and really sticks out and is also lower than would be my preference.

I don’t have a winch yet anyways so I’ll likely modify it when I pick up my winch. Looking at a Warn XT25 now, choices choices....

My latest quad has it on the front rack. Wouldn't be my first choice on how to mount my winch. But it was installed when i bought it and it works fine for now.

It's just bolted to a steel plate thats welded to the rack at the front. I'm thinking about moving it. Kinda taking up space on the rack. If i do move it I'd be building my own mount.
