Hey, I recently got a 2023 Kingquad and I ordered a set of 27" bighorns for it as well since the dealer told me they'd fit, but looking at the footrest support, I'm not sure about it. Does anyone have experience with these tires on the newer gen kingquads? I plan on running them at a low pressure so hopefully they'll clear.

When it comes to 27” tires you pretty much start getting into that clearance category. Depending on the brand of 27” tires you get, sometimes you’ll have no issues then others you’ll get some rubbing whenever you turn the wheels one way or the other. I’ve seen some guys hack (Trim) some the plastics to remedy this problem. Thing is most don’t like hacking into a brand new KQ. And I don’t blame them, I wouldn’t.

I believe you’ll be fine with the 27” Bighorns, but I’m not 100% certain. Just keep an eye on the width of the tire and don’t go too wide in the front or you might encounter steering issues or rubbing issues. Also note that putting larger tires will affect your overall performance of your ‘23 KQ. You can help combat this by shimming the clutch or having the Coop3 mod done. Shimming helps restores bottom end power but at the sacrifice of losing a bit of top end speed. The Coop3 mod however is the best way to go as it’ll pretty much restore your entire power band without sacrificing another.

Thanks for the welcome, and yeah I definitely don't want to be cutting this machine up.
I've been reading some on here about various clutch mods and I think I'm gonna go with a little bit of shimming. From what I understand my speed loss hopefully won't be too drastic, since I'm losing gearing on the clutch side but gaining with larger tires the only difference should be on the speedometer in theory. Either way top speed isn't too much of a concern for me anyways, I only plan to max it out maybe a few times what for saving on the underwear bill lol

Haha, yeah, those underwear bills can get pretty expensive. 😛 And I guess your like me, you don’t really care about top end speed all that much. Frankly, I’ve ever only got to top end speed like maybe 4-5 times. I care more about bottom end power more than anything.

I just had a set of Kenda Bear Claw HTR installed in January. But being winter I haven’t had the chance to truly try them out. So I’m really itching for spring/summer to roll around. Ain’t coming fast enough though, lol. I stuck with the stock sizes though as I didn’t want to do anything to the clutch. Each tire weighs about 5-6 lbs more than stock. Not a huge difference in weight so I don’t expect to see much performance loss. I may lose minimal top end speed if anything, but that doesn’t bother me one bit. Your top end speed loss should with those tires should be relatively small. Usually depends on the size and weight of the tires your putting on. But you’ll see this as you ride and can adjust the shimming if you feel it needs something extra.
