I wnet on a ride yesterday. Coming down the mountain trails i used my brakes a bit, o more than a bit. I noticed that after a while the rear brakes got week. I mean hardly no breaking action happening. Can someone explain this and is it an isuue i can adjust and fix?

Sounds like they got too hot.......or just may be worn out or need adjusting.

If your brakes got too hot they can glaze making them slip. The same way a clutch gets glazed from slipping.

If so the best fix is to replace them.

when the going gets steep, either up or down...use LOW range... going up it'll keep the speed down and the wet clutch from burning out...going down you get awesome engine braking...unless it's a near vertical section I rarely need the brakes at all... be careful the Vinny is a bit sensitive (as in will flip over end over end) on the really steep vertical descents with too much braking

I agree about the engine braking. I hardly use my brakes. For regular driving i just let off the throttle or downshift to slow down. I usually put my KQ300 in low or super low and just let it crawl down long or steep hills.
