Hello everybody, new here so forgive me. I recently bought a 2001 King Quad for dirt cheap, the only issue is that the previous owner decided to stick a trickle charger and melt the wiring harness to a crisp. Apparently the wires got so hot that the entire front fenders are now chopped into two. Pretty sure the battery exploded as well. However everything on the quad as far as non electronic components are still in great condition, has compression, wants to start (used a screwdriver on the solenoid to see if it turns over).
To cut to the chase, I was wondering if there was a diagram for a 2001 model, I've seen others in here from '90-'98 and I'm not sure if they would be correct to follow. If anybody knows a way to get the quad to start and run since it'll be mostly for use around the farm here. I can install led light pods on a separate circuit later on if needed. Or am I an idiot and decided to pull the impossible since I can't find parts from any retailers. I did pull the old harness out of the bike to survey the damage. The loom attached to the battery leading to the starter button and the loom attached to the gauge cluster is hit or miss. Will try to provide pics of the quad's wiring harness in the next post as soon as day breaks again here.
Thanks in advance!
