king quad 300 mods

ok guys lets see if we can get a mod thread going for the king quad 300.

im sure most of know about the "start in gear" and "diff. lock" mods

Ive bin looking around online and youtube shows a video of this kid riding a kq 300 with a arctic cat 300 rear end mod aka a "king cat" mod. what is it and hows it done ? is there any other useful mods for these beasts ?

The 300 King Quad does not have very many mods besides the start in gear, and the diff lock mod. As far as i know the only other minor modifications you could do is make it so you can have brake lights, and add a reverse light if you wanted. As far as your King Cat mod goes, I've heard of it but have no clue what it is or what it involves.

This really isnt a mod but:
The 92 KQ rear trans side U-Joints are exposed to the elements
The 98 KQ however has a stock dust boot that goes over the U-Joint. The boot will fit the 92.

I figured if Suzuki decided that the U-joints need protection then i should incorporate this change into mine.

i got the kit off ebay for around 60.00 i think it was. rock crawlers use em to ride at night. they use em along their running boards. i have had mine under water time and time again and they all still work.

Anyone added a non-OEM oil cooler fan with simple toggle switch? Would love to do that, but I'm seriously challenged when it comes to electrical stuff.

If I were to add a non-OEM oil cooler fan, how would that affect the battery life, could/should I add a second battery if it would even fit somewhere or am I worrying too much.

a winch draws more power than a fan. i would only use the fan while riding slow or on hot days. i think it should be ok . i would think connecting it to the "stock" wiring would be the best thing to do because it would run threw the regulator and fuses .
