King Quad timing chain

Hi not sure what year it is. 300 king quad.Just blew something it sounded like a chain in the engine. Is it a timing chain,if so where would I look to find it?Hope it's an easy fix.

I would take the rubber inspection cover off the side of the engine and get your finger in there (without engine running) you may be able to tell. I have just stripped my head. First time I have done it and it took me 3 hours. Not bad really. Hardest job was getting to the exhaust bolts.
