Angry 2000 quad master stator cover

has anyone pulled a stator cover off of a 2000 quadmaster,,I took the starter rope mech off,, took the gear that the rope starter goes into took all the bolts that hold the cover on took two water lines off,,, does the water pump have to come off. looks like a bolt going strait up the water pump. I dont want to break the cover. Raybob
