carb questions

Bought a 95 king quad 4x4 last night (VERY used) and have some questions. When I press the ignition button, gas squirts backwards out of the carb.(out the air intake). Also....most of the vacuum lines coming from the carb are simply dangling or tied up with loose ends. Anyone have a vacuum hose diagram???

You have 2 vacuum ports on the carb, one should be plastic and the other is metal. The Plastic one should be on the right hand side of the carb and the metal right in the middle on top. One line should come from the fuel pump which is located behind the front plastics on the left hand side mounted on the frame, the other should go to the rear of the fuel petcock/shutoff. What do you have the fuel shutoff set to if it is on prime than most likely the carb is flooding and causing the fuel to spit back out the intake. Lemme know if you have any more questions.

Yes, front port is front the front of fuel shutoff, the rear is to the carb(main feed line) and the rear is the vacuum port. No question is a dumb one.

I have a 1997 king quad 300 4x4, I just recently got it and I was cleaning the carb, I cleaned it, put it back together, but I forgot where all the hoses plug in, could anyone tell me, or give me a link to a diagram?

Line that feeds the carb is the one that comes from rear of fuel pump, there are 2 vacuum ports on the front of the carb one goes to fuel petcock the other goes to the rear of the fuel pump. The 2 ports on the rear of the carb are just over flow and there should be 2 hoses that attach to them but the other end does not hook up anywhere.

Where is the fuel pump, and the fuel petcock is the thing that sits under the gas tank with two hoses coming out from it... right? Does it matter where the vacuum hoses go, you said one goes to fuel petcock the other goes to the rear of the fuel pump. Could you tell me in more detail, the is one metal silver port that is like two inches long at the front, and there is a white plastic port, and there is alsosome gold ports, could you tell me exactly where they go please? Thanks

The fuel pump is located behind the front left fender behind the splash guard it will have 3 ports the rear port is where the vacuum hose from the carb goes. The 2 front ports on the carb is the vacuum ports one metal and one plastic is the ones I'm talking about. On the petcock one port is bigger than the other the smaller one is where one of the vacuum hoses hook up to. Don't worry about the 2 rear ports on the carb they are just overflow for the bowl/carb. Also on the fuel pump the ports should be labeled in out on the front and rear ports then there is a little port on the very back of it that is the vacuum port. Let me know if you need more clarification.
