I am trying to remove both front axles so I can remove the front differential for repair. The right axle came right out just like it says in my Clymer repair manual. The left one wont come out...What is the secret? What am I doing wrong; the left axle just will not budge no matter what I do.
Will someone please tell me how to remove the left front axle.
Thanks
Ken

It's a 1998 Suzuki MV ATV LT F500F.
Sorry about that, I didn't give any info.
I have it mostly apart with the right axle out; it came out just like it says in the manual. But the left one wont budge and I am afraid if I smack it any harder I will break something. Is there some kind of circlip around the axle on the inside of the differential? Something seems to be holding it from coming out.

I am not familiar with these so the most I can do to help is send you some diagrams. Turns out there are several variations throu the model years so I will give you the link to all three. You will just have to compare what you have to the diagrams. The last link is the diagram list incase you need to see other things (front bevel gear ass.). Sorry I could not be of more assistance.

SR5 Thank you for these diagrams. A real quick look shows me what may be a circlip around the axle inside the front differential. So as soon as I can I will take off the cover plate on the differential; look for the circlip; then try to get it off. I can only work on this a littel at a time because I am disabled and standing or kneeling really hurts after a while. Hopefully, I can now figure out this can of worms and repair the differential. I need to get this running so I can continue to hunt and fish; without it I am screwed because I can no longer walk very good. So your help means a lot to me SR5; and I thank you for your time. Next I hope I can get this great big can of worms back together again without any extra parts left over. lol
Thanks again.

Taking the cover plate off will not help and just cause possible other problems.....The axle will come off....some are just harder than others....
Try what MRM says
