Unhappy PLEASE HELP!! 700 kingquad

Hi guys,

I need a little help. I apologise if my questions seem a little silly. This is my first mechanical project.

I have recently got myself a 700 king that i am trying to fix up. I have constent problems with the fuel filter on the bottom of the fuel pump choking up. The tank and fuel are spotless. The filter is full off crap I can't get rid of. I am thinking of removing it completely and adding an inline filter. Has anybody done this? What are your thoughts on the functionality of this idea?

Also, I getting a grinding sound every now and then and the bike won't move. I have changed rear cvs, rear prop shaft and socket. I think it is coming from the rear differential or gear box. It seems to do it in forward and when I put it in reverse and go a bit then back in to forward and works. It will do this at random times through out a ride. I have dropped all oils and there are no great big chunks of metal. What are your thoughts on this, how do I check rear diff without pulling everything apart and gear box?

The only way to know for sure is to remove it and check and make sure something didn't come loose like the ring gear.
