Noisy engine |

I just purchased an 09 King-Quad 500 AXi, which I like very much. However, I am concerned about all the engine noise when getting on the throttle, especially in high range. It sounds like it is detonating, and should have a higher octane gas. Seems to run fine, and as the engine warms up, noise seem to quiet down some. Anyone else have this happen, and any ideas if this is normal? Thanks

Newly crowned GNCC ATV Champ victorious at St. Clairsville Round 12 – GNCC ATV Series
St. Clairsville, Ohio - ITP Power Line Park (October 3-4, 2009) - Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Chris Borich showed his true championship-winning colors this past weekend by winning round 12 of the GNCC ATV series at ITP Power Line Park in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Although he’d wrapped up the 2009 GNCC ATV Championship at the previous round, Borich didn’t lose his competitive edge. Quite the contrary – the newly crowned champion got stuck in a mud hole on lap one and required a towrope from fans to escape the bog. Unfortunately, the rope tangled in his rear axle and stayed put for the rest of the race. In spite of this, Borich rode a consistent and impressive race and gradually left his competitors behind. With this win, Borich has won seven races in a row and nine races overall this season. He is eagerly looking forward to the final round of the series later this month and hopes to pick up one more win to complete the already successful season.
Chris Borich:
“My Rockstar Makita Suzuki QuadRacer R450 worked great out there today and put me on the podium again – even though I got caught in the mud hole and, if it wasn’t for the fans helping me out, I would have been stuck there. I was a little worried about that rope getting wrapped around my axle, but it didn’t damage anything and I was still able to take the win. I’ve won seven rounds in a row now, and nine total for the year. It’s a pretty good feeling to have accomplished that. Although it feels really good to win nine races this season, I still want to win at the last round.”
Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing will race next at the final round of the GNCC ATV Series at the Klotz Ironman in Crawfordsville, Indiana, the weekend of, October 24-25, 2009.

BREA, Calif. (May 26, 2009) – American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) congratulates the Suzuki motorcycle and ATV race teams for racking up a championship, numerous victories and podium finishes in their most recent events. To date, a Suzuki motorcycle or ATV leads the overall championship points standings in six different classes in U.S. Road Racing, Supercross, Motocross and the GNCC.
In road racing, the Suzuki GSX-R leads both American Superbike and Daytona SportBike classes.
With six-time AMA Superbike Champion Mat Mladin at the helm, the incredibly powerful Rockstar Makita Suzuki GSX-R1000 has won eight out of nine rounds and has taken every Superbike pole position this season. And thanks to its precise handling, the GSX-R600 with M4 Suzuki’s Martin Cardenas piloting, has won the last four Daytona SportBike races in a row, as well as an earlier round in the series. Capping off that feat is that the M4 Suzuki GSX-R600 has also captured three out of five Daytona SportBike pole positions with Jason DiSalvo.
Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey and the Suzuki RM-Z250 clinched the 2009 AMA Supercross Lites West Coast Championship at the series’ final round. En route to winning this title, Dungey piloted the nimble-handling RM-Z250 to four victories plus three additional podium finishes. The RM-Z250 also finished third overall in AMA Supercross Lites East Coast with Nico Izzi.
In the premier Supercross class, the Rockstar Makita Suzuki fuel-injected RM-Z450 brought twotime AMA Supercross Champion Chad Reed three victories and second place overall, with the Australian finishing on the podium at all but one of 17 rounds. After just one round of AMA Motocross, the RM-Z250 and Dungey already have a victory and lead the 250-class points chase, while teammate Mike Alessi and the EFI RM-Z450 have a second-place result and are runner-up in the 450-class overall points standings.
