Suzuki ATVS Owns All Racetracks
May 29, 2009 - 7:43 AM - by rocky
BREA, Calif. (May 26, 2009) – American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) congratulates the Suzuki motorcycle and ATV race teams for racking up a championship, numerous victories and podium finishes in their most recent events. To date, a Suzuki motorcycle or ATV leads the overall championship points standings in six different classes in U.S. Road Racing, Supercross, Motocross and the GNCC.

In road racing, the Suzuki GSX-R leads both American Superbike and Daytona SportBike classes.

With six-time AMA Superbike Champion Mat Mladin at the helm, the incredibly powerful Rockstar Makita Suzuki GSX-R1000 has won eight out of nine rounds and has taken every Superbike pole position this season. And thanks to its precise handling, the GSX-R600 with M4 Suzuki’s Martin Cardenas piloting, has won the last four Daytona SportBike races in a row, as well as an earlier round in the series. Capping off that feat is that the M4 Suzuki GSX-R600 has also captured three out of five Daytona SportBike pole positions with Jason DiSalvo.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey and the Suzuki RM-Z250 clinched the 2009 AMA Supercross Lites West Coast Championship at the series’ final round. En route to winning this title, Dungey piloted the nimble-handling RM-Z250 to four victories plus three additional podium finishes. The RM-Z250 also finished third overall in AMA Supercross Lites East Coast with Nico Izzi.

In the premier Supercross class, the Rockstar Makita Suzuki fuel-injected RM-Z450 brought twotime AMA Supercross Champion Chad Reed three victories and second place overall, with the Australian finishing on the podium at all but one of 17 rounds. After just one round of AMA Motocross, the RM-Z250 and Dungey already have a victory and lead the 250-class points chase, while teammate Mike Alessi and the EFI RM-Z450 have a second-place result and are runner-up in the 450-class overall points standings.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Borich Captures Victory on the Last Lap at Mountain Ridge GN

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Racing’s Chris Borich picked up his fourth victory of the 2009 Can-Am GNCC season at the Mountain Ridge race in Somerset, Pennsylvania, this past weekend. The exciting race saw Borich get a mid-pack start and then move quickly to the front of the pack on his Rockstar Makita Suzuki QuadRacer R450. Borich took over second place and battled for the lead right up to the last lap, when he took over the lead and got the win. This victory follows up Borich’s win at the last round, where he moved into the points lead in the overall championship standings.

Chris Borich:
“It feels really good to put my Rockstar Makita Suzuki QuadRacer R450 up on the podium again. I can’t say enough about Suzuki and Yoshimura – they have my bike dialed-in and it gets the job done when I need it to. Overall, having a 12-point lead is really a confidence-booster for me. I thought having that DNF a few rounds back would have been a problem and would make it harder to get back up there in points but I have recovered from that sooner than I thought I would.

“Now I feel ready for the next round, whether it’s dry or muddy. We are prepared for just about anything. I usually do well in Ohio, so I’m looking forward to putting my Rockstar Makita Suzuki back on the podium again at round eight. I have been working hard for so long to take a championship.

I’m really hoping that this is my year.”

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing will race next .the Wiseco John Penton GNCC in Millfield, Ohio, the weekend of June 6-7, 2009.

Brea, CA (3/13/2009) - Suzuki recently announced that it is once again able to start selling the 90cc QuadSport youth ATV’s, youth ATV parts, along with 125cc dirt bikes and RM85L dirtbikes that were currently banned under the CPSC’s Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). Suzuki, along with several other manufacturers, has decided to raise the recommended age limit on their youth sized products, in order to avoid the costly and time consuming testing that would be required of all their machines and parts destined for the 12 years and under crowd, and get their products back on the showroom floor.
“We simply did what other manufacturers are doing by raising the age limit. Several of our youth models and parts are once again available to the consumer and we are also working on being able to have other models available soon,” said Suzuki’s Gabe Castillo.

The new 2009 QuadSport Z-400 has grown up to be a lot like its big brother the QuadRacer R450. For '09, the popular race and trail bike has adopted fuel injection and Yoshimura's Comp Series RS-2 mufflers are perfect for squeaking all the power capable out of this quad. Yoshimura has been developing pipes for the Z400 since it first rolled off the assembly line in 2003 and they continue to be among their top selling pipes. With a 96dB USFS approved low-volume insert, and simple quick installation, this system is the perfect complement.
